General
We're in Eugene, Oregon, off West 11th Ave — our warehouse is toward the north side of the building in Unit J (4091 West 11th Ave, Unit J, Eugene, OR 97402). Call us at 541-357-8895 if you'd like a tour or have trouble finding us.
We operate only out of our Eugene, Oregon shop. Finished trailers are picked up by the new owner or shipped via a third-party service upon completion. We currently have no plans to develop outside dealerships — staying small is how we keep our quality where it is, and stay resilient to a dynamic economy.
We don't provide shipping ourselves, but we've had happy clients in Canada and elsewhere arrange their own. We typically recommend a third-party service like UShip.com. Be sure to research license-plate rules and border fees for the states you'll tow through.
We don't offer in-house financing — a personal or vehicle loan through your bank or another lender is your best bet. We ask for 45% down to begin building, with the remaining 55% due before pickup or delivery. Recently, some of our clients have been opening a new credit card with low or zero APR, for the purpose of paying their in initial payment amount. Then when the build is complete, and the trail'r is able to function as it's own collateral, the client will get full amount financing with a vehicle type loan with low APR, then pay off and close down the card they paid the initial balance with. The ancillary benefit to this method is the fact that credit purchases are natively protected, so if an asteroid came and smashed our shop and us in it, you'd still get your money back.
We've offered kits in the past, but we don't currently offer them. We may decide to offer them again in the future.
Oregon Trail'R provides a limited warranty to the original purchaser, covering defects in materials or workmanship for five (5) years from the date of delivery or pickup, when the trailer is used normally and as intended. This warranty does not cover damage from misuse, neglect, accidents, unauthorized modifications, improper storage, or normal wear and tear. Appliances and third-party components (such as AC units, heaters, water system components, or brake controllers, etc) are covered by their own manufacturers' warranties rather than by Oregon Trail'R. If a covered issue comes up, reach out to us at info@oregontrailer.net with your name, proof of purchase, and a description of the problem, and we'll work with you to sort it out. At our discretion, we will repair or replace the affected part or component. If you're near our Eugene, OR shop, we'll always ask you to bring it in — that's the fastest and most reliable path since we know these trailers inside and out. If you're farther away, we'll do our best to support a repair through a qualified third-party facility by providing parts, technical guidance, and other reasonable assistance; however, any shipping, transportation, diagnostic, or third-party labor costs are the responsibility of the owner unless we agree otherwise in writing ahead of time. This warranty is the sole and exclusive remedy for covered defects, and Oregon Trail'R is not responsible for incidental or consequential damages, including but not limited to lost trip time, towing charges, lodging, or travel expenses. Some states don't allow the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so this limitation may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights that vary by state. We take a lot of care building these trailers to be durable and low-maintenance in the first place, and we genuinely want to make things right if something goes wrong — this warranty is meant to reflect that, while being clear about how claims are handled.
Cancellations and refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis, taking into account all relevant facts about your build's status at the time the cancellation is requested. If we've only just entered your name and quote details into our schedule, most — if not all — of your initial payment can be refunded. However, once we've invested significant time and money into your build, the calculation changes. Oregon Trailer LLC reserves the right to retain up to 100% of your initial payment if a cancellation is requested too far into the custom-build process. That said, we're typically able to refund the bulk of your payment and always aim to handle these situations fairly. We ask that you avoid accepting a quote you're not confident you'll follow through on. As a small company, cancelled orders on work we've already invested in are extremely difficult for us to absorb. If you have any questions about our refund policy, please give us a call at 541.357.8895.
Models & Comfort
Like most manufacturers, our pricing moves in response to parts and material prices and shipping costs. Our builds are available from very simple/basic configurations to fully loaded/high-spec builds. This allows our clients to best match their budget to their want's and needs. Our Trail'R finder/matcher uses your inputs to recommend the right model and configuration spec for you.
Yes — we now offer a simple, effective air-handling option for both heating and cooling. We've developed an interface plate that installs quickly and easily into the open window of either door: it has a 3" duct port with flex-duct on the exterior surface and louvered, directional vents on the interior. That 3" hose connects to either a diesel heater or a portable, battery-powered AC unit (like a Zero Breeze or equivalent). For most heating we still prefer a simple electric blanket, and the ceiling fan/vent does a lot to manage heat — but when conditions demand, we can easily interface to more capable systems.
We don't build a fridge into the galley — a permanently mounted unit would eat up space and wreck the flow of the galley design. We do fully support powered fridges though. We offer secured stowage space with power in the cabin for transit, and we also offer exterior power in the back for while you're at camp. Another popular method, maybe the best, is to keep the powered fridge in the back of your tow vehicle. This way it doesn't need moved, it's always nearby when you need it, and it's always with your vehicle, even if you go exploring around nearby or go resupply in town. For those with the space available in the back of their rig, this is the move.
No built-in bathrooms — we find a good deployable setup more functional. We offer quick-deploy, rack-mounted shower/potty stalls that give you a private space, and they pair great with a Road Shower or an instant water heater. We even offer swing-away 90° mounts so the stall can fold out of the way and let both doors still function. The pressurized and solar heated tank/shower option is a great match to make this package simple, reliable, and effective.
A 4.5"-thick, comfortable high-density foam mattress — American-made, with a charcoal-grey fabric exterior and black piping. With "Cargo Management" elected it becomes as a split mattress that stacks for storage; without it, a full single mattress.
We offer five known-awesome colors that we've vetted and love. We're happy to walk you through them when you build your quote.
Quotes & Building
Click "Get a Quote" button to open the configurator. Pick your model, then add the options you want — the price updates live as you go. Add anything special in the notes, then submit, and we'll email you a copy and keep it on file. Build as many as you like; Lock in the one you want by accepting the quote and we'll build your trail'r.
30 days from the date of submission. Please get in touch within that window so we can lock in your price and move forward with your build. Quotes expire after 30 days.
Reach out by phone or email within the 30-day window and we'll turn your quote into a confirmed build. To lock it in we start with a 45% initial payment, with the balance due before pickup or delivery; from there we keep you posted as your trailer moves through the shop. Lead times vary by season — currently roughly 5-6 months.
As many as you'd like! Play around and build it your way. The one you lock in, is the one we'll use to build your sales packet and trail'r.
While we love a good DIY spirit — DIY isn't a team sport. We keep our CAD in-house.
If you've elected electric brakes you'll need two things on your tow vehicle: a brake controller (installed by a brake specialist — not something we do) and a 7-blade tow connector to power them. These days there are some wireless/bluetooth type brake controllers that don't require installation. These have now proven themselves to work well and reliably. Our preference is still for hardwired units, but the wireless ones are fully workable now.
